Configuring Dashboards for Users

Standard users do not have access to homepage dashboards by default. This article explains how to configure dashboards for your users.

Configuring Dashboards


If you do not wish all of your data to be displayed to your users, you may wish to configure the dashboards for individual users before they log in.

Dashboard Launch

To protect your data, upon launch of our new homepage dashboards, we have not allowed standard users to see the dashboards until Administrators have allowed them access.

If you have a number of users and do not wish to configure the dashboards individually you could use the Roles function to predefine permissions that can be applied to a number of similar users. See Creating Roles.

To configure the homepage dashboard for a user:

  1. Whilst logged in as an administrator, click on your username, top right, and click Users.
  2. Select a user.
  3. Click the Module Permissions tab.
  4. Find the Homepage Dashboard module from the list. Note that the permission are set to No Access - when the user logs in they will be see a message explaining they do not have access yet.
  5. If you wish to configure the dashboards for users, you can do so by clicking on Config.
  6. In the config screen, you will be able to change the settings for the specific user. To preview what this user will see, click Save and then preview the dashboard.
  7. Once you are happy with their view, Save the settings for the final time and return to the user settings.
  8. Finally, to give access to the dashboard, you must choose between Standard and Manager. Managers have the option to configure their own dashboard.
  9. Finally, Save the user settings to apply all the permissions.
