Email Dashboard and Log

Cin7's Email dashboard and log shows a snapshot of emails sent from your system. This article explains how they work.

Overview


The Email dashboard contains a collection of tiles that display useful information and provide links to key actions. There is also a link to the Email Log on the top right of the dashboard. The Email log displays details about emails sent from Cin7.

Locating the Email Dashboard


To open the Email Dashboard:

  1. From the left navigation pane click on Admin and Reports.
  2. Click on Email Dashboard.

Email Dashboard Tiles


There are four Dashboard tiles:

Email Activity

This tile displays the number of recent email sent from Cin7’s Sales Order, Quotes and Purchase Order Modules.

Email By Type

This tile displays the number of recent email sent from Cin7’s by type.

Email Sent

This tile shows the number of emails sent today and in the last seven days from Sales Order, Quotes and Purchase Order Modules. Clicking on View Emails Sent takes you to the Email Log listing all sent emails.

Email Not Delivered

This tile shows the number of emails not delivered today and in the last seven days from Sales Order, Quotes and Purchase Order Modules. Clicking on View Emails Not Delivered takes you to the Email Log listing all sent emails.

Email Log


The Email Log Page shows an overview of all emails sent from Sales Order, Purchase Order and Quotes Modules.

1. Filters

The filters at the top of the screen can be used to refine the list of emails visible in the List Page. You can use multiple filters at the same time to narrow the list further. By pressing Reset, all filters will be returned to their defaults.

Status

Select a specific Status by which to filter the email list.

Transaction Type

Select a specific Transaction Type by which to filter the email list.

Date

Filter the list by date - there are a number of date types to choose from:

Email Sent The date the email was sent.
Status Updated The date the sending status of the email was last updated.

Keyword

Entering text in this box will search by Sales Order Reference, Invoice Number, and Recipient Email.

2. Email Log List

The Email Log has the following fields:

Order Reference Unique reference associated with the transaction. Clicking on the Order Reference will take you to the Sales Order Module.
Invoice Number Unique invoice number associated with the transaction. Clicking on this displays a copy of the invoice.
Transaction Type Shows the type of transaction for which the email was sent - Sales Order, Purchase Order or Quote.
Recipient Email Email-ID of the receiver.
Sent at Time when the email was sent.
Subject Clicking on the Subject displays the content of the email sent.
Current Status Latest Delivery status of the email.
Status Description If the email is undelivered, this field states the reason why email delivery failed.
Last Status Update The timestamp when the status of the email was last updated.
Viewed by Recipient Displays if the recipient has opened the email or not.
View Status History Pops up the list of status changes associated with sending of the email along with respective timestamps.

Daily Update Email


To receive a daily update, you can tick Receive Daily Updates by email at the bottom of the page. This email will be sent to the account owner.

The daily email will tell you the number of emails sent, broken down by transaction type, and also the number of unsuccessful deliveries.

Currently we store the last 3 months of emails sent in the Email Log.
