How to prepare the Dymo LabelWriter 450 to print labels.

Installing your Printer


 

Installing the Dymo LabelWriter 450 on a Mac is straightforward, but we recommend downloading some software first however - this provides a larger variety of print sizes.

To install the Dymo LabelWriter 450:

  1. Download Dymo Label Software from the Dymo Label Website.
  2. Follow the installation instructions.
  3. Once installed, you do not need to Open the Application (though you can use it for making address labels).
  4. Instead, open System Preferences.
  5. Select Printers and Scanners.
  6. Click + to add a new printer.
  7. If the Dymo printer is connected via USB it will appear in the list. Select it.
  8. From the Use menu, make sure to select Dymo LabelWriter 450 to install the correct driver.
  9. Click Add.
    Your LabelWriter will now be installed.

To Install the Dymo LabelWriter 450 on Windows we recommend donwloading some software first - this provides a larger variety of print sizes.

To install the Dymo LabelWriter 450:

  1. Before plugging in the printer Download Dymo Label Software from the Dymo Label Website.
  2. Follow the installation instructions for the software.
  3. Once installed, plug in the printer via USB - you should be able to print directly from it.

Printer Settings


There are two labels supported by Cin7: Dymo LW Small Multipurpose and Dymo White Address Label. Below are the recommended settings to ensure a good quality printout.

Dymo LW Small Multipurpose
  1. In Cin7, choose Continuous Standard as the label size.
  2. Click Print, then in the Chrome print dialog, click Print using system dialog.
  3. From the Paper Size dropdown, select '30336/1 in x 2-1/8 in'.
  4. Select Landscape from Orientation.
  5. If print quality is bad, you can adjust settings in the Printer Features page of this dialog.

You should end up with a page like this:

Dymo White Address Label

  1. In Cin7, choose Continuous Wide as the label size.
  2. Click Print, then in the Chrome print dialog, click Print using system dialog.
  3. From the Paper Size dropdown, select '30252 Address'
  4. Select Landscape from Orientation.
  5. If print quality is bad, you can adjust settings in the Printer Features page of this dialog.

You should end up with a page like this:

Dymo LW Small Multipurpose
  1. In Cin7, choose Continuous Standard as the label size.
  2. Click Print.
  3. In the Chrome Print Dialog, set Layout to Landscape.
  4. Click More Settings
  5. Choose the Paper Size 30336/1 in x 2-1/8 in.
  6. To improve the print quality, you can change from 300dpi to 300x600dpi.
Dymo White Address Label
  1. In Cin7, choose Continuous Standard as the label size.
  2. Click Print.
  3. In the Chrome Print Dialog, set Layout to Landscape.
  4. Click More Settings.
  5. Choose the Paper Size 30252 Address.
  6. To improve the print quality, you can change from 300dpi to 300x600dpi.
