How to prepare the Zebra LP 2824 PLUS to print labels.

Installing on a PC

It may be possible to use the Zebra directly with your PC without installing any additional drivers, however we recommend downloading Zebra's Setup Utilities anyway - it allows you to print to more label sizes if you do.

To download the Setup Utilities:

  1. Download the Zebra Drivers for this printer from the Zebra website.
  2. Download Zebra Setup Utilities from the Zebra drivers page.
  3. Follow the instructions on-screen.

Printer Settings

Cin7 only supports one type of label for the Zebra LP 2824 PLUS - though this is not to say other sizes won't work; you'll just have to work out the settings for alternative labels yourself.

It is recommended to use labels that are 50mm x 28mm (1.97" x 1.10").

To set up your PC, first amend the label settings:

  1. On your PC go to the Control Panel and click on Devices and Printers (this may vary depending on your operating system).

  2. Find your printer, right click and select Printing Preferences.
  3. Set the Width and Height of your labels from the Options Tab.

  4. You can save preset label sizes in the Stocks tab so that you do not have to retype the options each time you switch labels.

Testing the Printer

You may have to print a few test labels before you get a label that is correct; this is completely normal.

To print a label, review the Label Printing Help article.

To print from the Zebra LP 2824 PLUS:

  1. Make sure you have set the label size to "Continuous Wide".
  2. Select Print.
  3. In Google Chrome's print Dialogue, make sure the right printer is selected, then select More Settings.
  4. Set Paper Size to the defined size, saved in step 4 above.
If you did not save a size configuration in Setup Utility, it may say "User Defined" which means it is based on the current printer preferences.
  5. Set Margins to "None".
  6. Make sure the Headers & Footers option is not selected.

You may need to edit the Darkness setting in Setup Utilities if your labels need more contrast. There are also a few quality options which you may like to try in the Dithering tab.
