As a third-party Amazon developer, Cin7 must comply with Amazon's Data Protection Policy that specifies how we retain Personally Identifiable Information (PII). In the context of Cin7, PII includes the following data:
Amazon's Data Protection Policy requires that PII is only kept for the purposes of fulfilling an order, and that any PII after 30 days of fulfillment is deleted.
Amazon Sellers are bound by similar policies in the Seller Central Selling Policies and Seller Code of Conduct.
Cin7 will implement two changes:
For existing customers, Cin7 will modify retrospectively any orders that contain PII.
When an order is first downloaded, it is assigned to a generic CRM record. This can be modified to another generic customer record in the Amazon module settings if necessary.
All Amazon orders will be assigned to this contact.
PII will still appear in the order details however, so that you can fulfil this order. Once you have marked this order as dispatched, and 30 days have passed, a process will run to erase the PII from the order, which will appear like this:
We will check daily for any orders that have PII and remove it.
Any customer that is signed up to our service prior to 4th September will see these changes take place as of 4th November 2019.
Any customer that signs up to Cin7's service after 4th September 2019 will have any Amazon PII deleted by default 30 days after order fulfillment.
We really appreciate your feedback.
