Matching Products between eBay and Cin7

Last updated 15/03/2020

Overview

If you have products in both eBay and Cin7, and no products need be imported to either system, you'll simply need to match products to each other. The matching process allows Cin7 to update information like stock levels from Cin7 to eBay.

Matching is not necessary for downloading orders.

Matching Products

The matching process is really easy. Products will be loaded from eBay and matches will be made to products in Cin7 using based on the code/SKU.  If the SKU on eBay does not match the code in Cin7, Cin7 will try to map the products based on matching barcodes. If both SKU or barcode do not match, the product will be available for custom mapping.

  1. Click on Import All Products.
This loads products to compare with existing products in Cin7. N.B. it does not import products into Cin7. A sample of this data is shown below.
  2. Click Next.
A summary of matches will be shown in the next page.
  3. Make note of any SKUs that do not match - this will be due to the SKU not being found in Cin7.
If this is the case, you will either be given the option to remove unmatched products or download them as per the Download Process.
  4. To confirm the matches, click Finish.

Once products are matched, you will also need to add the eBay channel to a product - see instructions below.

Reviewing or Deleting Matches

If you are unsure how you have matched products or you have matched a product to another product incorrectly you can view product matchings and delete matching as appropriate.

  1. Whilst logged in as an Administrator from the left navigation, select Integrations, then eBay.
  2. From the Product Status tile, click View Mapped Products.
  3. In this list you will be able to see a list of all Cin7 products that have been matched, and a list of their eBay IDs.
  4. There are two actions you can take in this list:
    • Delete - deletes matchings that are incorrect
    • Download Products Mappings - downloads in csv format the data on display.

Deleting matchings does not affect products in either system, and you can rematch by following the process above if necessary.
