Setting up Promo Codes

Set up a Promo Code to promote special offers to your customers through your marketing channels.

Overview


Promo codes can be used to discount dollar amounts from your customer's POS transactions.

Promo codes have a number of useful features:

  • Expiry Dates
  • Custom Promotional Codes
  • Redemption Limits

This means that you can set up a promotion that will last until the end of the weekend, where customers can use offer code SPRINGSALE to receive $5 off their next purchase. When you have given this promotion discount -for example - 100 times, the promotion will stop automatically.

Setting up Promotions


To set up a promotion like this:

  1. Whilst logged in as an Administrator click on your username, top right, then click Settings.
  2. From the POS menu, select POS Gift Vouchers & Store Credit.
  3. Click Add New
    You'll only need to fill out some of the fields in the form that appears.
  4. In the Code field, enter a promo code of your choice, e.g. SPRINGSALE.
  5. From the Type drop-down, choose Promotion.
  6. Enter an Expiry Date for when the promotion should end using the date picker.
  7. Enter a dollar amount in the Amount$ field.
  8. Enter a Redeemed Count limit to choose the maximum redemptions for this voucher.
  9. Click Create to save the promo code.

Redemption in the POS


First, make sure the Promo Code payment option is switched on. To do this:

  1. Whilst logged in as an Administrator click on your username, top right, then click Settings.
  2. From the POS menu, select POS Payments Setup.
  3. Make sure the Promo Code payment type is switched to Active.

To redeem a Promo Code:

  1. Log into the POS, and make a transaction as normal.
  2. Click the orange PAY button.
  3. Click Promo Code.
  4. Enter the Promo Code in the field provided, and click Apply Promotion.
  5. You will see that the dollar amount is discounted from the transaction.

This will work until all the Promo Codes are redeemed, or the date expires.
