What options do I have when restricting POS user access?

I would like to learn more about the different options for restricting user access in the Point of Sale. For example, I would like to know how to restrict a user to their own branch.

What are my options when it comes to this?

Answer

There are a few different options for limiting the access of a user, which can be done at a branch level and/or a module level.

Branch Permissions

Access can be restricted to accessing a particular branch, or branches. It is also possible to choose whether a user has permission to edit a branch or only view it. For example, you could give a user permission to view and edit their own branch, and also give them access to view the transactions of a neighbouring branch.

Users can also be set up with a default branch.

Module Permissions

Access can also be limited to particular POS modules, controlling the ability to create, view, and edit the modules.

User permissions are set when a user is created or updated. Please see Creating New Users for instructions on this process.
